Opening date set for Reverie in Farmers Park

Posted online

Reverie, the upstairs bar component of the new Progress restaurant in Farmers Park, now has an opening date.

The grand opening for the 2144 E. Republic Road establishment is slated for 4 p.m. Dec. 12, according to a news release from Farmers Park developer Green Circle Projects LLC. The owners of Progress and Reverie previously pointed to an undisclosed winter launch for the bar, following the opening of Progress in October.

The bar on the fourth floor of the westernmost Farmers Park building features tables by former Marlin Network president-turned craftsman Michael Stelzer, Nordic-inspired interior fixtures, furniture and finishes, and a partially covered patio. The menu offers small plates created by Progress chef and co-owner Daniel Ernce, and eight rotating beer taps, 12 wines and cocktails. The design is meant to foster a sense of escapism, according to Cassidy Rollins, front-of-house manager and co-owner of Progress and Reverie.

“We want people to let go of their inhibitions up there, quite literally,” she said in the release.

Rollins, Ernce and Michael “Jersey” Schmitz previously operated Progress as a pop-up dinner venture before settling into a permanent brick-and-mortar space. The co-owners partnered with O’Reilly Hospitality Management LLC to bring Progress and Reverie to the south-side Farmers Park development.

Progress and Reverie fill the spaces left vacant in January, when Metropolitan Farmer and its top-floor bar, dubbed Barley, Wheat and Rye Social House, closed amid a lawsuit seeking back rent and late fees. Progress is in 4,800 square feet, with Reverie in 3,200 square feet.
