WON Communications LLC
After four years in the efactory business incubator, WON Communications LLC moved Aug. 16 to 1900 LeCompte Road, Bldg. 15, in Springfield Underground. The company offers residential and business internet service, both wireless and fiber, as well as phone and information technology support. Matthew Thomas, who co-owns the company with Cameron Rose, said WON subleases about 2,000 square feet of the 10,000-square-foot space occupied by Pitt Technology Group LLC. The lease cost, which he said includes server tower and storage space from Springfield Underground, is about $2,000 a month. “We ultimately outgrew it,” he said of WON’s efactory office, which Thomas entered after winning the incubator’s pitch competition. Thomas said his company does a lot of work with Pitt Technology Group and was invited to share space after Pitt Technology moved in February. WON employs seven, including two in a Bolivar office.

Classic Rock Coffee Republic
Located at 1230 U.S. Highway 60, Classic Rock Coffee Republic is the first business ownership venture for Grata Parsley. The 1,800-square-foot shop opened May 21 in Merchants Park, and Parsley said it’s the only Missouri franchise location of Springfield-based Classic Rock Coffee Co., founded in 2011 by Kent Morrison. According to the company website, other locations are in Texas, Nebraska, North Dakota, Nepal and Nigeria. Startup costs, including franchise fees and extensive renovations to the former Jalapenos Grill, were around $500,000. Parsley signed a five-year lease with Wilson Properties for $2,222 per month. Formerly in banking and then a stay-at-home mom, Parsley said she’d wanted to run her own business and was drawn to Classic Rock Coffee. “The product is amazing, and the atmosphere is very cool,” she said. The cafe’s menu features a variety of coffees, teas, protein shakes, breakfast and lunch sandwiches, salads and dinner entrees.
