Blue Line Business Network
Blue Line Business Network started Oct. 1, offering discounts to law enforcement officers at participating companies. Creator Todd Kennedy leases an office in the Ozark Chamber of Commerce’s Carl G. Hefner Enterprise Center, 1471 W. South St. in Ozark. He said participating businesses pay a membership fee – $75 per quarter or $250 a year – and agree to discount services or products to police officers. Kennedy, a former business manager for the Springfield Police Officers Association, said 15 businesses have signed on toward his first-phase goal of 100. He sends the membership list, including stores and websites, to police officer contacts across four states. Members include Rosie Jo’s Cafe and Ellis Battery in Ozark, Hawthorn Bank in Springfield and a couple of restaurants in Joplin, Kennedy said. The Blue Line Business Network is a side business for Kennedy, who works full time as a manufacturer’s representative in the heating and air industry.
