Satori Sound Frequency Therapy
Nancy Brown
on June 18 opened Satori Sound Frequency Therapy at 2139 E. Primrose St., Ste. F. Brown, as the lone employee, operates inside the building that also houses Luminous Health & Yoga. On a one-year lease with Luminous owner Betsy Burris for an undisclosed rate, Brown said therapy sessions involve sound wave frequency to help clients increase energy, improve sleep, manage pain and increase mental focus. Each session typically runs $65. Brown, who declined to disclose startup costs, previously worked in sales and project management in the technology field for 16 years. Her career change was inspired by a January trip to Nashville, Tennessee, where she experienced sound therapy for the first time at In Harmony Wellness Center. Vale Insurance LLC
Formerly a teacher in Springfield and Rogersville, Hannah Vale moved into the insurance industry with the Aug. 5 opening of Vale Insurance LLC. Vale said her husband Jeff has worked in the industry for five years and convinced her to pursue running her own office, which she set up at 425 W. Farm Road 182, Ste. A. The 1,500-square-foot space was formerly a Tax Relief Center business, Vale said, adding she is on a three-year lease with FBM Inc. for $945 a month. As a licensed agent with American National, Vale said the two-person office provides home, auto and life insurance for commercial and agribusiness, but added she specializes in small business. Additionally, Vale continues to own a licensed child day care facility, Springfield Center for Learning and Care, which she started in 2014.

Big Whiskey’s American Restaurant & Bar
Nixa marks the eighth corporate-owned store for Big Whiskey’s American Restaurant & Bar, which began serving customers Nov. 16 at 715 McCroskey St. The Springfield-based restaurant chain’s newest site replaced a Ruby Tuesday (NYSE: RT) that closed in 2016. Big Whiskey’s officials also purchased a Ruby Tuesday for undisclosed terms in Republic, which opened in 2017. BP Builders LLC renovated the 3,300-square-foot Nixa building for roughly $600,000, said Laura Head Elliott, Big Whiskey’s marketing director. Seventy-five employees staff the eatery, which serves burgers, sandwiches, wings, soups and salads. Founded in 2006, Big Whiskey’s has 10 restaurants in its portfolio, including franchises in Lee’s Summit and Bentonville, Arkansas. Two other franchise locations – in Birmingham, Alabama, and Las Vegas, Nevada – are scheduled to open in 2019, Elliott said.
