Missouri Trust & Investment Co.
Missouri Trust & Investment Co. moved Dec. 2 to 3100 S. National Ave., Ste. 200, in National Place. The trust company was initially chartered July 5 and operated at 3828 S. Fremont Ave. until construction finished on its 5,700-square-foot office in the multitenant building. Offering investment management and trust services, Missouri Trust’s leadership came together from multiple financial firms: CEO Tim Parrish was an original member of Trust Company of the Ozarks, now part of Simmons Bank; Chief Administrative Officer Jeremy Loftin was vice president and relationship manager at Central Trust Co.; and Chief Investment Officer David Richards was a senior portfolio manager at Simmons Bank. With six others on staff, typical client accounts have minimum values of $250,000. Parrish said Nathan Taylor at Obelisk Home Inc. was hired to design the firm’s traditional office interior. Lease terms and furnishing costs were undisclosed.

Mikado Supreme Buffet
Husband and wife Ivan Lin and Monica Liu opened Mikado Supreme Buffet on Nov. 20 at 2501 S. Campbell Ave., in the 11,500-square-foot building vacated 20 months ago by Ryan’s buffet. Rebecca Bucy took on the general manager role after spending 11 years with Ozarks Regional YMCA, most recently as corporate membership director. She oversees 40 employees at the new restaurant, which offers buffet-style seafood, sushi and hibachi-grilled dishes, as well as cashew chicken and other Chinese items. Bucy said lunch prices are $8.69 per adult and dinners are $13.99 apiece. Each owner has 10 years of restaurant experience – Lin as a hibachi chef and Liu as a waitress. The couple signed a five-year lease for undisclosed terms with property owner Faith Fayman Strong Trust. They spent an undisclosed sum on remodeling, including interior updates and a collapsed ceiling repair, Bucy said.

Tinga Tacos
Three owners of Civil Kitchen – Anne and Clayton Baker as well as Thomas Hong – partnered with Civil employee Jessica Oliva to open Tinga Tacos at 308 W. McDaniel St. The team formed Duberry LLC and signed a three-year lease in April with Jason Murray for the space formerly occupied by The Brick Slice House, Hong said. They spent seven months, and an undisclosed sum, remodeling before opening Nov. 16. The kitchen was rebuilt, Hong said, since the previous tenant left no equipment or furnishings behind, and he and Clayton built the 25-seat dining room’s stainless steel tables and wood benches by hand. Describing the entrees as gourmet or street-style tacos, Hong said varieties include beef, chicken, pork and tofu. Tinga Tacos also sells sides of cheesy corn, rice, chips, salsa, queso and guacamole. Olivia said the restaurant is named after the stewed chicken recipe of one of its signature tacos, she serves as general manager, working with 10 employees who mostly prepare takeout orders.
