MaMa Jean’s Natural Market
Co-owners Diana Hicks and Susie Farbin on April 25 opened MaMa Jean’s Natural Market’s third store in Springfield, the latest in the former Furniture Broker building on East Sunshine Street. Hicks and Farbin purchased the site, 3530 E. Sunshine St., for an undisclosed amount from IDK LLC, which is operated by Furniture Broker manager Kerry Wilson. Three-year employee Austin Hartley was promoted to store manager and manages roughly 50, a combination of new hires and transfers of seasoned staff members, he said. With 15,000 square feet of retail space, the Sunshine store is the largest of the three, but Hartley said each is uniquely designed. He said products are duplicated across the stores, with a continued emphasis on organic foods, household, health and beauty items, and supplements. “During the next couple of months or so, we’ll start looking at new items to bring in,” Hartley added. Hours: 8 a.m.–8 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 10 a.m.–6 p.m. Sunday. Phone: (417) 429-1800. Web: MaMaJeansMarket.com

DealeTin.com
On April 14, LCS Kleen Aire Business Development Director Tyler McGauley launched DealeTin.com, an online bulletin board for deals. McGauley, whose family owns LCS Kleen-Aire, organized the site under Tyler McGauley Holdings LLC and runs it from his Ozark home. A cross between Pinterest and Groupon, consumers and business owners pin deals such as dinner specials from Applebee’s, book discounts from Mardel and clothing sales from J.Crew. “It lets anyone pin a deal from any site, and they can share that with the rest of the community,” said McGauley, who spent two years in research and development and personally invested $15,000 in the venture. A San Francisco-based company that McGauley declined to name cuts his company a check when transactions occur through the site. He said the amount earned ranges between 1 and 20 percent of the purchase. Two active businesses at startup are Mount Vernon-based Red Monkey Foods and a cake toppers company in the United Kingdom, he said. Hours: 24/7. Phone: (417) 496-1055. Web: DealeTin.com

Net@Work
New York-based Net@Work on April 25 finalized the acquisition of Springfield accounting services firm Huckstep & Associates LLC, 3734 South Ave., Ste. E. The move signals the launch of a nonprofit practice for information technology services firm Net@Work, and Huckstep & Associates has adopted the Net@Work name. Specializing in accounting software consultation and support, Huckstep & Associates founder Jeannie Huckstep has amassed more than 350 clients in the nonprofit and public sectors across 35 states. Its six employees have experience in payroll, human resources, audits and grant reporting, with an emphasis on supporting Sage software. In the deal, officials said Huckstep clients have access to Net@Work’s business technology solutions and IT consulting services, including document and enterprise content management, custom Web development, e-commerce and marketing automation. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, but Huckstep is taking on the role of Net@Work’s nonprofit practice director. She and her team will keep its headquarters in Springfield, and another office operates in Okemos, Mich. Hours: 8 a.m.–5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Phone: (417) 889-8991.
