Hemporium
Hemporium opened for business Oct. 15 at 4139 S. National Ave. selling hemp products and “cannabidiol,” commonly known as CBD oil. Business partners Russ and Shelley Powers and Greg and Rachel Lee signed a three-year lease for 1,650 square feet in the Twin Oaks Shopping Center. CBD is a nonintoxicating component of cannabis used to treat chronic pain and inflammation. Hemporium carries products such as candy and trail mix with CBD via Infused Edibles LLC, a company for which Greg Lee is a wholesale distributor. The Queen City shop also sells CBD-infused pet food, as well as hemp clothing, backpacks, wallets and bath and body products. “There’s nothing in here that’s not a derivative of hemp,” Russ Powers said. The store’s lease terms and startup costs were not disclosed. Hemporium joins other CBD sellers in Springfield, including CBD of Springfield and Canna Bliss.

Olsson
Engineering firm Olsson Associates Inc. dropped the latter part of its name and rolled out a rebranding Oct. 15. The Lincoln, Nebraska-based company, which operates a Springfield office at 550 St. Louis St., is now doing business as Olsson. Officials say the Olsson logo – now in lower-case green and yellow letters – was changed to match a simplified and clear message as the company expands its geographic footprint. The company has grown to more than 1,000 employees with offices in eight states, led by CEO Brad Strittmatter. Among the company’s recent local projects was civil engineering work for Mercy Bolivar Multi-Specialty Clinic, The Township Senior Living and Wildwood Plaza. It also performed engineering work for the Mercy hospital in Joplin after the 2011 tornado destroyed the health care system’s facility.
Hours: 7:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 7:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Friday

E, office in Branson West, the second for Ascend Dental, has about 800 patients. Schmidt retired in August. Financial terms of the deal, as well as renovations costs, were undisclosed. Magers said the office was updated with new flooring, decor, paint, equipment and a dental laboratory. Ascend Dental opened in 1985 as Dorman Family Dental. The practice changed names to Ascend in 2015 after Magers came on board. With its Springfield office at 1200 E. Woodhurst Drive, Bldg.
