Corporate Technologies Advantage LLC
Owners Paul and Lori Patton moved Corporate Technologies Advantage LLC on June 18 to 210 E. Sunshine St., doubling its previous space around the corner in Sunshine Corners. The Pattons founded the call center in 2007 with three employees and now employ 200. Lori Patton said CTA serves as a subcontractor offering three services for clients: outbound time-share promotion, inbound hotel booking and inbound hotel customer service. She declined to disclose CTA’s clients. The Pattons signed a six-year lease and spent $250,000 furnishing the 10,300-square-foot space, most recently occupied by Fitness 19. The office has a large area for cubicle workstations, a training room, an employee lounge and a room for nursing mothers. Paul Patton started his career in 1989 at what he called Springfield’s first call center, Pioneer Teletechnologies, which later became an MCI office. Lori also worked at MCI.

Mid-Missouri Bank
Mid-Missouri Bank moved a branch out of a strip mall, June 19, across the street to a $1.7 million newly built stand-alone branch at 5419 S. Campbell Ave. at the former site of Bair’s Grocery. Assistant Vice President Sarah Gutirrez said the 5,270-square-foot bank features a new design that forgoes a teller line for individual desks where clients sit with bankers, each of whom operate a cash drawer. The new branch, like most of Mid-Missouri’s 14 area locations, offers Kasasa checking accounts, as well as loan services and insurance sales – with 13 employees serving clients. The meeting center, dubbed the Bair’s Grocery Conference Room after lands former tenant, will be available to the public, even during off-hours through a keypad. The bank was founded in Bolivar in 1872, according to its website, and now is overseen from an operations center in Springfield at 1619 E. Independence St.

Omo Japanese Soul Food
Stephanie Liu opened Omo Japanese Soul Food on June 26 at 2101 W. Chesterfield Blvd., Ste. B-102. Specializing in ramen dishes, it’s her second restaurant venture with boyfriend Hong Jung. A native of China, she first became interested in ramen as a teen on a family trip to Japan. “In their culture, they treat their ramen as their soul food,” she said. The 1,300-square-foot space formerly was occupied by Half Crocked Chef and Enoch’s BBQ & Southern Classics. She spent at least $80,000 opening the new eatery, which employs six and has a five-year lease for undisclosed terms. Liu also operates the six-month old Hula Hawaiian Kitchen with Jung and business partner Finnet Falig in the Southgate Shopping Center.
