Springfield Public Schools teacher
Jonna Choat joined teachers from around the world in the Honeywell Educators @ Space Academy. Choat accumulated 45 hours of professional development at the space camp and participated in an educator curriculum focused on space science and exploration.

GovernmentJeffrey Schmitt, a shareholder at public accounting firm Tucker and Co. PC, was appointed to the city of Springfield’s Industrial Development Authority, which develops commercial, industrial, agricultural and manufacturing facilities, and issues project revenue bonds.
Secretary of State Robin Carnahan awarded a $47,803 Digital Imaging Grant to the
Springfield-Greene County Library District. The grant will be used to identify and prioritize collections pertaining to Missouri’s World War I history.
Health CareIntegrity Hospice and Palliative Care received approval from the Community Health Accreditation Program for full hospice accreditation.
Mercy Hospital Springfield was recognized by the Joint Commission in conjunction with American Heart Association/American Stroke Association with advanced certification for primary stroke centers. Certification signifies an organization’s dedication to fostering better outcomes for patients.
