Banking and Finance
OakStar Bank promoted Tessa Eidson to vice president of compliance. She has a bachelor’s in finance from Missouri State University and 10 years of banking experience.

KPM CPAs PC hired Mary Brune, Linsey Hunlock, Amanda McCafferty and Casey Stovall as staff accountants. Brune and Hunlock work in audit services, while certified public accountant McCafferty and former KPM CPAs intern Stovall provide tax services. All four have bachelor’s degrees in accounting from MSU.

Bank of Sullivan, which operates branches in Springfield and Pleasant Hope, elected Jon Downard as chairman of the board. The senior partner of Hansen, Stierberger, Downard, Schroeder & Head LLC in Union has been a director since 2015.

Development
Springfield Planning & Zoning Commission appointments Britton Jobe, Randal Doennig and Cameron Rose were confirmed by City Council. Their terms expire Jan. 1, 2021.

City Council also confirmed an appointment for Dan Scott to serve on the Land Clearance for Redevelopment Authority, expiring March 1, 2020.

Education
The Missouri Association of Secondary School Principals named Cherokee Middle School Principal Bill Powers as Missouri Middle School Principal of the Year. He will officially receive the honor in March during the association’s annual spring conference.

Nixa Public Schools was named a Google Reference District, demonstrating excellence and leadership in adopting technology with the use of G Suite – formerly known as Google Apps for Education – and Chromebook laptops.

Legal
Evans & Green LLP partners Douglas Evans and Brent Green marked 10-plus years of being recognized as Super Lawyers in Missouri and Kansas by SuperLawyers.com. Evans and Green are board-certified creditors’ rights attorneys in Missouri.

Municipal
Jonas Arjes
, executive director of Taney County Partnership, became a certified economic developer by the International Economic Development Council. Arjes has led the partnership since its formation in 2012.

Springfield City Council confirmed Gary Stafford, Richard Pogue and Shelby Lawhon to the city’s Personnel Board. Their terms expire March 1, 2021.

Council also reappointed Joseph Hoffman to serve on the University of Missouri Extension Council, expiring March 1, 2020.

Nonprofit
Ozarks Regional YMCA announced its 2018 board of directors: Shannon Boggs, president; Mike Farquhar, vice president; Rachael Dockery, secretary; Brian Todd, treasurer; Matt Mayse, immediate past president; and board members Christian Lewis, Dan Prater, Rob Yanders, Catherine Reed and Allen Jones.

Technology
Tyson Petty
joined Pearson-Kelly Technology as information systems director. Petty has 26 years of technology industry experience, including a stint as chief operating officer of Abacus Technology LLC.

Pearson-Kelly Technology also added Mike Phillips as IT project manager. Phillips has 17 years of experience, recently as a sales engineer for Northern Summit Technology.
