BluCurrent Credit Union hired Michael Farrar as director of mortgage lending. Farrar holds a bachelor’s in finance from MSU and has seven years of industry experience.

BluCurrent promoted Lacey Stomboly to human resources manager, with responsibilities including payroll, benefits administration, recruitment and employee recognition. She has six years of experience and holds a bachelor’s in business administration from MSU.

PrimeLending hired Eric Meruelo as a residential lender. He has 20 years of experience in the finance and mortgage industry, most recently as branch manager for Franklin American Mortgage.

Ron Penney, a private wealth adviser with Ameriprise Financial, was named to Barron’s Top 1,000 Advisors State-by-state Listings. He was chosen by the magazine based on assets under management, revenue produced for the firm, client satisfaction, and regulatory and compliance records.

Rachel Hudson, learning and development coordinator for accounting firm BKD LLP, earned the professional in human resources certification from the HR Certification Institute. She holds a bachelor’s in marketing from MSU and has seven years of experience in human resources and marketing.  

Education
Evangel University education professor Becky Huechteman was honored with the 2012 Celebrate Literacy Award by the Missouri State Chapter of the International Reading Association at the 2012 Write to Learn Conference.

College of the Ozarks President Jerry Davis was named president of the American Association of Presidents of Independent Colleges and Universities. Davis has served as C of O’s president for more than 30 years.

MSU publications writer and editor Michelle Rose and graphic designer Teri Poindexter won District VI Gold Awards from the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education. The council works to advance professionals who work in alumni relations, communications and development.

Employment
Express Employment Professionals of Springfield received the Circle of Excellence Award at the firm’s 29th annual International Leadership Conference in San Antonio, Texas. The award, one of the top honors given to the 1,400 Express franchises, recognizes sales, recruitment and placement efforts. This is the eighth time the local office has earned the award since 2004.

Gov. Jay Nixon was appointed to a two-year term on the board of directors of Achieve, an organization of governors and business professionals working to ensure that all U.S. students graduate from high school and are prepared for postsecondary success.[[In-content Ad]]
