Springfield-based outdoor retailer Bass Pro Shops has plans in the works for a third store in West Virginia.

Unlike the company’s other two stores in the state, the primary branding will be Bass Pro for the new Morgantown, West Virginia, location. Cabela’s stores are located in Charleston and Triadelphia, according to the company’s website.

Unique to the new store is a five-story boat display tower for the company’s Tracker Boats line, as well as all-terrain vehicles, according to a news release.

“West Virginia, the Monongahela River area and nearby southwestern Pennsylvania are some of the best regions in the country for fishing, hunting and outdoor recreation,” said Bass Pro founder Johnny Morris, referring to the choice to locate the store in Morgantown, in the release.

The Bass Pro store will be an anchor tenant in a new mixed-use development called WestRidge Business and Retail Park, which is designed with some 2.8 million square feet on 1,000 acres.

“Bass Pro has an incredible draw as a true destination retailer and will be an amazing anchor tenant,” said Holly Childs, director of business development and external relations for WestRidge, in the release.

Bass Pro currently operates 171 stores under its own name and the Cabela’s brand, according to its website.

A request for additional details was not returned by deadline.
