Netflix added nearly 7 million subscribers during the third quarter, beating its own and analysts' forecasts.
The number of new subscribers was up 31 percent from 5.3 million adds a year earlier.
CEO Reed Hastings said the company "under-forecasted memberships" by previuosly predicting 5 million additions in the quarter.
The company's total membership now exceeds 130 million.
