Missouri State University officials are forecasting more expenses and revenue in the school’s 2019 fiscal year.
For the year ending June 30, 2019, staff members are projecting $268.9 million in expenses, a 0.5 percent increase from the current year that ends at the close of this month, according to the MSU Board of Governor’s agenda for its meeting scheduled today in West Plains.
Operating revenue for the upcoming year is projected at $201.1 million, a 1.7 percent increase from $197.8 million in fiscal 2018.
The projections point to an operating loss of $67.8 million for fiscal 2019, compared with an operating loss of $69.9 million for fiscal 2018, according to the agenda.
According to the board agenda notes, the fiscal 2019 budget factors in former Gov. Eric Greitens’ budget and a tuition and fee increase approved by the board of governors in April.
The Republic School District is on track to open its Intermediate School for fifth- and sixth-grade students for the 2025-26 academic year.
