Mercedes-Benz to invest $1B in electric vehicles

Mercedes-Benz plans to invest $1 billion in Alabama to produce electric vehicles.

The company announced it will expand its existing plant near Tuscaloosa and also build a 1 million-square-foot battery factory.

The expansion that would add 600 jobs in the Tuscaloosa will augment a $1.3 billion expansion of the facility announced in 2015.
