LVMH to buy hotel operator Belmond for $2.6B

French luxury goods company LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton SE agreed to purchase London-based hotel operator Belmond Ltd.

The deal for $25 a share in cash values the acquisition at $2.6 billion.

With fashion labels including Louis Vuitton and Christian Dior in its portfolio, LVMH already operates hotels, such as the Cheval Blanc in the French Alps.
