Lee Jeans to move from KC as parent splits

Lee Jeans will move its headquarters out of the Kansas City metropolitan area as its parent company splits in two.

VF Corp. announced plans yesterday to separate into two independent companies.

Most of the company's brands, including The North Face, JanSport and Dickies, will stay with VF. VF's jeans and VF Outlet businesses, which include its Lee and Wrangler brands, will become a new, yet to be named company.

Lee will move its headquarters to Greensboro, North Carolina, to join up with the Wrangler brand. It currently resides in Merriam, Kansas.
