Lance Armstrong settles $100M suit for far less

Lance Armstrong settled a $100 million lawsuit brought on by the federal government for $5 million.

The government sought damages under the False Claims Act, arguing the cyclist disgraced the U.S. Postal Service, a sponsor, by using performance-enhancing drugs.

Armstrong also agreed to pay $1.65 million to cover the legal costs of whistleblower Floyd Landis, a former teammate who filed the original complaint.
