KY3 journalist takes local government job

Posted online

KY3 Inc. multimedia journalist Mike Landis is heading to the city of Republic for a new job.

An on-air personality for the TV station, Landis announced the switch to public information officer of Republic in a Facebook post yesterday.

“I am looking forward to working with a great team in such a nice, rapidly growing community,” Landis wrote in the post. “I thought I'd be part of ‘The Place to Be’ family forever — but sometimes good things must come to an end so something even greater can begin.”

Landis is scheduled to work his last day at KY3 on June 1.

According to the post, Landis has worked in local broadcasting for nearly 15 years. He joined KY3 in 2010, according to the company’s website.

His recent work at KY3 includes reporting on EpiPen shortages, the economic impact of Johnny Morris’ Wonders of Wildlife National Museum & Aquarium, and crime and education.

Prior to joining KY3, Landis worked at KTTS and KQTV in St. Joseph, according to the post.
