The owner of KB Toys is pushing a comeback for the brand as Toys R Us shuts down.
Ellia Kassoff, the founder of Strategic Marks LLC, said the parent company has “spent the last six months working on a sustainable model to bring back KB Toys the right way." KB Toys operated more than 1,000 shopping mall stores before closing in 2009.
Kassoff said the Toy R Us closure has accelerated the effort to reopen KB Toys. The company has a goal of opening stores by the holidays.
