The Kansas Supreme Court ruled in favor of a former Pizza Hut franchisee in a 15-year-old tax dispute.
The state was ordered to return more than $63 million to Gene Bicknell, who previously owned NPC International.
The court ruled Bicknell was a Florida resident in 2005 and 2006 when he sold the company, so he therefore should be refunded an income tax assessment from Kansas.
