House prepared to OK $36.5B for relief efforts

The U.S. House of Representatives is expected to vote today to approve $36.5 billion in disaster relief funds.

The aide would help disaster-hit areas such as Florida, Texas, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. California's devastating wildfires also would be addressed.

The bill combines $18.7 billion for the Federal Emergency Management Agency with $16 billion for the federal flood insurance program. Another $577 million would be used for California wildfire aide efforts.
