House OKs GOP tax bill, followed by Senate panel

The U.S. House of Representatives yesterday passed a $1.5 trillion package overhauling corporate and personal taxes.

The 227-205 vote was in favor of the legislation that would eliminate tax deductions for state and local income and sales taxes and limit property tax deductions to $10,000.

The Senate Finance Committee voted late Thursday in favor of the House GOP tax bill. It should hit the Senate floor after Thanksgiving.
