The U.S. House of Representatives yesterday passed its farm bill after weeks of uncertainty over whether it would be approved.
The bill contains changes to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, more commonly known as food stamps.
House GOP leaders had to rely solely on Republicans for the measure, which imposes stricter work requirements on between 5 million and 7 million SNAP recipients.
