An international tenant that signed on a year ago now open for business at Branson Landing.

Clothing retailer H&M opened yesterday in the Branson shopping and dining district, marking the eighth location in the state for the fashion chain.

The store’s impending arrival was announced last summer, when parent company H & M Hennes & Mauritz AB signed a multiyear lease for undisclosed terms with HCW Development Co. LLC, which owns Branson Landing, according to past Springfield Business Journal reporting.

Rick Huffman, CEO of HCW, this morning said his company first made contact with H&M in May 2017 and was able to accommodate the retailer’s desire to fill a large building at Branson Landing. Huffman said Chico’s, a women’s clothing chain, relocated to a storefront nearby,

H&M’s store occupies approximately 21,000 square feet at the town square area of
Branson Landing, adjacent to Cantina Laredo.

“They wanted to be in the market area,” Huffman said. “We’re very happy to have H&M at the Branson Landing. They will do very well there.”

The store offers clothing for women, men and teens, as well as separate sections for accessories. The Branson Landing location also will carry the H&M Kids collection for newborns to 14 year olds, according to a news release.

According to H & M Hennes & Mauritz AB’s six-month investor report released June 28, the company operates more than 4,800 stores in 69 markets. This year, the company plans to open 390 stores and close 150, with total revenue for 2017 at $25.9 billion.
