Closing On A Home With No Surprises

Posted online

“Buying a home is the largest investment someone is going to make in their lifetime. When we close with them, we’re helping them achieve that dream”, says Brian Russell, VP of Operations and Sales at Great American Title Company. “Whether a realtor brings in someone closing on a $1,000,000 home or a $60,000 home, they want each client to have the same seamless experience with no surprises.”

“We’re not a cookie-cutter title company. We’re going to take time to cater to the experience because it means a lot to all of the parties involved,” says Russell.  “Our employees are the biggest difference we offer. They still feel that emotion involved with buying your dream home. Our staff wants to high five all the parties involved to celebrate right along side of them. It’s our job to make these dreams come true for all clients involved.”

Great American Title Company also invests in client safety by using off-site server storage. While most companies house their servers on-site, Great American Title Company stores theirs in a secure location off-site at Springfield Underground. It’s less secure to store highly confidential consumer data on a server located inside a retail business office with no on-site security. This investment in security ensures the safety of not only the information of the homebuyer but also the reputation of the realtor who represents them.

“Our goal is for realtors and homebuyers alike to know that by coming to an established company like Great American Title they can be certain there will be no surprises,” says Russell. “You’re going to have a satisfactory closing and know that we’ll be around for years to come should anything ever come up.”

In addition to providing a secure closing experience to homebuyers, the company is also heavily involved in working with and donating to several non-profits. Great American sponsors a golf tournament every year to raise money for The Kitchen and participates in Harmony House’s iCare day. The company is also the key underwriting sponsor for Habitat for Humanity Homerun and provides the construction disbursement services for the St. Jude dream house.

Great American Title Company was founded in 1992 and continues under the same ownership today. The company started with 10 employees and one location and has grown to 125 employees and 17 more locations, including Springfield, Branson, Joplin, Lake of the Ozarks and Northwest Arkansas with more on the horizon.

“It’s funny that no one seems to know our story or how large we are,” says Russell. “We are a regional company competing nationally right now.”

“We call ourselves a family operation with corporate framework,” says Russell. “We’re large enough that we know we’ve got to have corporate guidelines in order to be effective and to compete nationally. But we never want to lose that family feeling, and flexibility our employees sometimes need.”
