George Lucas picks LA for $1B 'Star Wars' museum

"Star Wars" creator George Lucas has picked Los Angeles as the future home of his $1 billion museum.

News of the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art in downtown Los Angeles comes after Lucas pulled the project from Chicago last year. In Chicago, he ran into legal challenges from an open-spaces group.

The proposed museum would features Lucas' collection of paintings, illustrations and digital art from the blockbuster "Star Wars" movie franchise he started in 1977.
