Project description: A single three-story building with multiple wings is underway in south Springfield for a 60-unit independent senior-living complex by Zimmerman Properties. James McDonald, Zimmerman’s vice president of development, said 48 of them are income-qualified units built with low-income housing tax credits through the Missouri Housing Development Commission. While the remainder are market rate, he said monthly rates will range $450-$750 for one-bedroom units and $535-$850 for two bedrooms. McDonald said similar Zimmerman projects are Villas at Quail Creek on West Lark Street and Villas at Copper Leaf in Nixa. “They’re all fully occupied with waiting lists,” he said. The company has built about 20 senior developments among its 108-community portfolio in 15 states. Villas at Lark Pointe is located down the street from Zimmerman/Wilhoit Properties’ $4 million headquarters under construction at 1329 E. Lark St.
