Project description: Arvest Bank’s first brick-and-mortar branch in Christian County is scheduled to open in January. The Lowell, Ark.-based bank operates a branch inside Nixa’s Wal-Mart Supercenter, and officials say the two sites will work in tandem as staff rotate between them. An Allied Paint store building was demolished at the site earlier this year, and the project included moving Kenneth Street from frontage road along U.S. Highway 160 to wrap around the bank’s west side. Arvest Sales Manager Shane Cowger said the bank has hired three staff members and plans to employ seven at the branch.
