The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission yesterday announced it's suing a New York man and his company for allegedly committing a bitcoin Ponzi scheme.
The suit against Nicholas Gelfman and his fund Gelfman Blueprint Inc. marks the first time the agency has filed a fraud suit involving bitcoin.
The agency alleges Gelfman and his fun "fraudulently solicited more than $600,000 from approximately 80 persons."
