Evangel hires retiring Ozark superintendent

Posted online
The retiring superintendent of Ozark R-6 School District has been hired to join the faculty of Evangel University this summer.

Gordon Pace, who plans to retire June 30 from the position he's held in Ozark since 2005, will join Evangel as coordinator of the university's educational leadership master's program, according to a news release.

A 1978 graduate of Evangel, Pace also currently serves as an adjunct faculty member teaching night class in the school's educational leadership master's program.

“I like that it combines a master’s degree with principal certification. It is a well-structured program that prepares graduates for educational leadership positions at the school, district, state and national levels," Pace said in the release, noting the program allows students to maintain full-time employment while studying.

In Ozark, Pace is being succeeded by Kevin Patterson, the district's associate superintendent. Patterson will start his two-year contract beginning in the 2013-14 school year.[[In-content Ad]]
