Enactus moves from world headquarters building

Enactus moved its employees last month to the Frisco Building, as Netsmart Technologies Inc. will soon lease the nonprofit’s entire former world headquarters.

Netsmart penned a lease agreement with Enactus in fourth-quarter 2018 for space at 1959 E. Kerr St., said Enactus Chief Financial Officer Christine Rader. The health care software developer determined it needed more space, she said, and Netsmart now occupies the entire building.

Enactus has since moved its 25 local employees into 8,930 square feet of leased space at 3253 E. Chestnut Expressway, Rader said.

The nonprofit joins fellow tenants Marlin Network LLC, The Alchemedia Project, DairiConcepts LP, Erlen Group and Eagle Stop LLC operating in the Frisco Building, according to past Springfield Business Journal reporting.

The nonprofit Enactus connects student, academic and business leaders through entrepreneurial-based projects around the world. It has chapters at Drury, Evangel, Missouri State, and Southwest Baptist universities, as well as Ozarks Technical Community College, according to its website. It has over 1,730 university programs worldwide with 72,000 student members.

Netsmart entered into a lease arrangement for 48,150 square feet of Enactus’ world headquarters last fall. Terms of the deal were undisclosed. Netsmart representatives were not available for comment by deadline.

In July 2018, Netsmart acquired Nashville, Tennessee-based Change Healthcare Technologies LLC’s home care and hospice units in Springfield and other markets, along with the company’s nearly 200 local employees. The move marked the second recent acquisition, as Netsmart entered the market with the purchase of HealthMedX LLC in October 2016.

The move to Enactus’ world headquarters was an effort to bring all its local employees under one roof, said Netsmart Chief Operating Officer Tom Herzog, at the time.

Netsmart is riding a six-year growth curve, with revenue nearly tripling to $319 million in 2017 from $110 million in 2011, according to past reporting.
