The governing board of City Utilities of Springfield elected new officers for 2019.
Joe Reynolds, president of Central States Industrial, is slated to become Board of Public Utilities chairman on Jan. 1, according to a news release. He succeeds Jeff Childs, senior advisor at SVN Rankin Co. LLC.
The other new officers, and the people they are replacing, are:
• Denise Silvey, human resources manager for Paul Mueller Co., vice chairwoman, succeeding Reynolds;
• Rob Rector, vice chancellor for administrative services at Ozarks Technical Community College, secretary, succeeding Silvey; and
• Jennifer Wilson, principal of nForm Architecture LLC, assistant secretary, succeeding Jeff Groves, senior vice president of legal and general counsel for O’Reilly Automotive Inc.
The 11-member Board of Public Utilities — which also has City Manager Jason Gage as an ex-officio member — prepares CU’s budget for council approval and presides over operations and hires, among other duties, according to city charter.
The board chose new officers during its Nov. 29 meeting, according to the release.
Utah-based gourmet cookie chain Crumbl Cookies opened its first Springfield shop; interior design business Branson Upstaging LLC relocated; and Lauren Ashley Dance Center LLC added a second location.
