Cox launches second idea-generation accelerator

Posted online

CoxHealth today held its second annual Innovation Accelerator.

Through the accelerator, 50 CoxHealth employees were scheduled to submit growth ideas for the health system from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at The eFactory downtown. Each employee has a minute to present their ideas, according to a news release.

Employees will pick the top five to seven ideas to be reviewed and refined by local business coaches, who also serve as CoxHealth board members. They are:
    •    Chuck Chalender, agent with American Family Insurance;
    •    Kurt Hellweg, chairman of International Dehydrated Foods and American Dehydrated Foods;
    •    Jim Hutcheson, president of Jim Hutcheson Realtors Inc.; and
    •    Bob McDowell, owner of McDowell Consulting LLC.

Groups of employees will then tomorrow present the top ideas to CoxHealth leadership, which will pick a winner. The winning idea, as well as others suggested, may be implemented throughout the CoxHealth system.

Last year’s winning idea — offering delivery service to health system employees through the CoxHealth Pharmacy — already has been launched, according to the release.
