Corporate Business Systems promotes CFO to president

Posted online
Corporate Business Systems' three-year chief financial officer has been promoted to president.

Tyson Johns starts in his new role Oct. 1. Company founder Jim Quesenberry, who previously held the roles of president and CEO, continues to lead the company as its chief executive and owner, he said.

Quesenberry said he announced Johns' promotion during Corporate Business Systems' 20th anniversary celebration on Sept. 19.

"I wanted someone who is going to keep a close eye on the bottom line and make sure we continue to maintain and grow," Quesenberry said of Johns, a certified public accountant who also holds a Master of Business Administration. "He's just a very bright, results-oriented, competitive individual."

Moving forward, Johns will head up the day-to-day responsibilities of the company, while Quesenberry will work largely from his home nearby the Corporate Business Systems headquarters, 3348 E. Cherry St.

"I think my role will be to track the direction of the plane and let Tyson fly it," Quesenberry said.

Johns, who this week starts his fifth year with the company, will continue to hold his CFO responsibilities.

Corporate Business Systems' core business is in the sale and service of copiers, printers, scanners, electronic imaging devices and networks. It also added information technology services through an October 2012 acquisition.[[In-content Ad]]
