Chinese investment in US dries up

Chinese investment in the United States has fallen nearly 90% since President Donald Trump took office, according to The New York Times.

The ongoing trade war between the two countries reportedly is harming U.S. industries such as Silicon Valley startups, real estate in New York City and state governments.

In 2018, Chinese foreign direct investment in the U.S. was $5.4 billion. That's down from a peak of $46.5 billion in 2016.
