Chicago may lose Mars Wrigley's candy HQ

Mars Wrigley Confectionery is considering relocating 250 jobs from Chicago to New Jersey.

New Jersey offered the company $32.7 million in incentives to relocate the candy headquarters and consolidate two regional hubs.

“Mars is a major contributor to Chicago’s thriving food industry ecosystem and we are working closely with the company, across its many business lines, to continue to increase its presence in Chicago,” Mayor Rahm Emanuel’s office said in an emailed statement. “Mars Food recently moved its North American hub from the west coast to Chicago.”
