Chase Card Services is celebrating its 20th anniversary in Springfield with 300 planned hires.
Chase spokeswoman Christine Holevas said via email the company plans to bring on the new service providers throughout 2018. The subsidiary of JPMorgan Chase & Co. (NYSE: JPM) currently employs some 1,400 workers at its 303 E. Republic Road call center. The company launched the center on Jan. 5, 1998, according to a news release.
“We are proud to celebrate such a significant milestone in our facility’s history and recognize the important work of our many valued employees,” said Tony Polodna, local Chase site manager, in the release.
At Chase in Springfield, employees focus largely on customer service for credit card owners.
Companywide, JPMorgan Chase employs some 240,000 workers. In its third quarter, the company reported $6.7 billion in net income, a 7 percent increase from a year earlier. Credit card sales — excluding the company’s commercial card — were up 13 percent, according to a separate news release.
JPM shares have performed well so far in 2018, having reached a 52-week high of $110.03 on Jan. 4.
