The Carthage Press has returned six weeks after the 134-year-old newspaper closed.
It's now under local ownership via Rush-Hoover Media Group after its former owner, New York-based Gatehouse Media, shuttered the publication on Aug. 29.
"We wanted to show the people of Carthage what we could do with a local newspaper not ran by a large corporation," Rush-Hoover Media Group President Matthew Rush said.
The community now has two hometown newspapers. The Carthage Chronicle launched shortly after The Carthage Press closed.
