College of the Ozarks is utilizing funds from the fifth Bass Pro Shops Legends of Golf Tournament to improve the school’s Patriots Park.

Valorie Coleman, public relations director for C of O, said the private college received $500,000 from this year’s event, bringing total fundraising to over $2.5 million from the golf tournaments held at Johnny Morris’ Big Cedar Lodge.

This year, funds helped pay for a Korean War memorial, which was dedicated at C of O on April 18. Other memorials in Patriots Park include the Lest We Forget display of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, and the Missouri Vietnam Veterans Memorial.

C of O also contributed 203 volunteers to assist with the Legends of Golf event.

During the April 17-22 Legends of Golf tournament, the team of Kirk Triplett and Paul Broadhurst won the signature event.
