DeWitt & Associates Inc. hired G.R. Stovall as its new president and CEO.
Stovall, who most recently worked in business development for Branco Enterprises Inc. for nearly four years, started with DeWitt on Nov. 29. He succeeds Kevin Wagner, who took a job at The Vecino Group, Stovall said.
At DeWitt, Stovall leads a general contractor with projected 2017 revenue of $80 million, a backlog of roughly $65 million and 120 employees.
“DeWitt’s certainly been a Springfield fortress in commercial construction,” he said. “For me to lead this organization, it’s just exciting. It was an opportunity I really couldn’t pass up.”
It’s a return to a familiar atmosphere, as well, Stovall said. He worked as vice president for the now defunct MECO Systems Inc. for eight years in the 1990s and early 2000s. MECO was a sister company to DeWitt & Associates, Stovall said.
“This is somewhat like a homecoming for me,” he said, noting some of the same employees he worked with in the past are still at DeWitt.
DeWitt & Associates recently wrapped up a $33.8 million renovation and expansion project for Missouri State University’s Glass Hall, and is currently working on the south-side, $26 million Veterans Affairs clinic and Mid-Missouri Bank’s new Mt. Vernon office, among other projects.
The Republic School District is on track to open its Intermediate School for fifth- and sixth-grade students for the 2025-26 academic year.
