Big Cedar goes ‘glamping’ with new campground

Posted online

Johnny Morris is getting into the “glamping” business.

The Bass Pro Shops and Big Cedar Lodge founder announced plans to open a 64-unit campground adjacent to the Bass Pro Shops Long Creek Marina on Table Rock Lake, according to a news release.

Dubbed Camp Long Creek, the campground is designed with luxury glamping tents — referring to glamorous camping — shepherd’s huts, and couples and family cottages that will be part of the 4,600-acre Big Cedar attraction near Branson.

“Our goal is to create a special place that invites everyone to disconnect from life’s stresses and connect with each other and the outdoors,” Morris said in the release. “Countless families will create lifelong memories here around the warmth of a campfire and the stillness of the lake in the morning.”

Other planned features at Camp Long Creek include an outdoor pool, boat rentals at the existing Long Creek Marina, beach access, and fishing and hiking.

Camp Long Creek is scheduled to open in May 2019, according to the release.
