Attraction bringing year-round ‘snow’ to Branson

Combs Family Ventures LLC is bringing year-round snow to Branson — sort of.

The operator of Branson Zipline and Canopy Tours north of Branson is planning a summer opening for a 300-foot-long synthetic snow tubing hill, said Trey Pelz, president of Clear Entertainment & Marketing Group, the public relations firm representing Combs Family Ventures.

United Kingdom-based Briton Engineering Developments Ltd. is installing its Snowflex sports surface concept at the park in Walnut Shade. Pelz declined to disclose project costs.

He said Snowflex is similar to synthetic turf and uses water misters to create an experience akin to an actual snow hill.

Briton Engineering’s attraction will allow eight tubes to ride down the slope simultaneously. It’s being installed at Branson Zipline between two existing zip line courses, Pelz said, noting the Blue Streak Fast Line & Free Fall Xpress would travel over the synthetic white-colored hill.

The Snowflex attraction adds to Branson Zipline and Canopy Tours’ eight zip lines, 10 suspension bridges and free-fall simulators.

In Phase II of the project, a snow sports facility will be built within the next two years, according to a Briton Engineering news release.
