Apple gets critical iPhone technology in $600M deal

Apple Inc. is purchasing portions of a European company that produces power-management technology central to its iPhones.

The purchase of Dialog Semiconductor patents and staff for $600 million secures the company's role as an Apple supplier.

Dialog this year expects to report Apple accounted for three-quarters of its sales.
