The Arlington County, Virginia, governing board voted unanimously Saturday to award $23 million in incentives to Amazon for its second headquarters.
Amazon in November selected Crystal City, Virginia, and New York City as the sites of its new headquarters. The e-commerce giant pulled plans for New York City amid pushback from politicians and activists.
In Arlington County, protestors repeatedly shouted "shame" as the board voted on the incentives. Supporters, however, say the northern Virginia development would lead to hundreds of millions of dollars in tax revenue and tens of thousands of jobs.
