Amazon, Forever 21 vying for bankrupt American Apparel

Online retailer Amazon and teen apparel chain Forever 21 are among companies considering offers to purchase bankrupt American Apparel, people familiar with the matter told Reuters.

California apparel maker Next Level Apparel and brand licensor Authentic Brands Group also are in talks with American Apparel and its financial advisers.

Interested parties must submit offers ahead of the Friday deadline and beat a $66 million stock horse bid by Canadian apparel maker Gildan Activewear.
