She discusses how poverty is on the rise in Springfield and how it's not easy to break the cycle and get out of poverty. She talks about how low wages keep people in poverty. She also talks about how the incoming Congress and President may affect organizations like hers. She also talks about what makes her nervous and hopeful for 2017.

She discusses how she left the private sector to run a non-profit and the local business leaders who helped mentor her and how important it is to find a mentor to help keep your focus. She also talks about how she hopes the landscape of poverty in Springfield will change in 2017 and beyond. She says wages in Springfield must rise in order to lift more people out of poverty.
