T-Mobile hosts job fair to attract 145 new Springfield employees

T-Mobile US Inc. held a Feb. 9 job fair at its Springfield call center as part of plans to hire an additional 145 customer service workers.

Scott Goldberg, a spokesman for the company, said via email over 200 job seekers attended the event at 2645 N. Airport Plaza Ave., 40 candidates were interviewed and others were scheduled for interviews.

Due to customer growth in the area, Goldberg said the company is seeking an employee count of 750 by year’s end.

Bellevue, Wash.-based T-Mobile (NYSE: TMUS) is scheduled to release its 2014 earnings later this month. In a January filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, the wireless service provider reported preliminary 2014 customers results, which included 8.3 million net customer additions - 2.1 million of which came in the fourth quarter.

TMUS shares were trading at $31.22 as of 10:03 a.m., compared to a 52-week range of $24.26. to $35.50.[[In-content Ad]]
