Labor board rules Jimmy John's can't fire workers for icky sick-leave protest

The images on the posters aren't at all "icky," but the message is surely off-putting: It's a caution that you could be unknowingly noshing on a sandwich made by a sick Jimmy John's employee.
 
The posters protest the franchise's lack of a sick leave policy for its workers and asks for customers to help them gain the right to take time off if they are ill by contacting the franchise owner with calls of support. Franchise owner Mike Mulligan claimed the workers "clearly intended to harm [the company]" and so weren't protected from termination.
 
The National Labor Relations Board disagreed, ruling the franchise was wrong to fire the employees because the claim that they lack paid sick days "was factually accurate" and asking customers to call their boss showed a "sincere desire" to improve their employment, according to a report by Bloomberg Businessweek.
