Amazon offers employees $5,000 to quit

If Amazon is adding distribution centers and the workers to staff them, why is it also offering employees $5,000 to bail on their jobs?

It’s a loyalty test, according to a CNNMoney article.

The report states that Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos announced the “Pay to Quit” program to shareholders last week. Bezos’s statement explains that the program is intended to encourage workers to consider whether they are on the right career path. It will be offered to associates once a year.
